Hit! I'm Going Doooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnn! @ 09:46 am

I didn't write a word yesterday. Instead, I slept. As luck would have it, Mason is on the up-swing, which is, of course, why I started to get the crummies. His energy level is up; mine crashed.

Typical.

But I have a bit of a mutant healing factor (or, in a different lexicon, a constiution of 18++) and if I give myself time to sleep just as a cold/virus is coming on, I can usually beat it in a matter of days, rather than weeks. Right now I seem to already have moved (fingers crossed!) into the last stages, where the cough has settled deep in my throat. With any luck, I'll be well enough to go to Wyrdsmiths this Thursday.

The funny thing about sleeping yesterday is that my brain felt guilt about not writing. I snuggled into bed insanely early 5:00 pm and slept until 7:30 am this morning. Some of that was fitful, what with my coughing, Shawn's sneezing and coughing, and Mason's hacking. Sometime around 1:00 am last night, I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. I had a thought about a plot point in some previous stuff I've written, and realized that one of the characters made the wrong sacrifice. I'm going to go back and fix that today. Alas, I still don't have a clear vision of how the final showdown is going to play out, but maybe something will occur to me during the day today as I won't be able to get writing done until after everyone's asleep tonight after 8:00pm.

Since Mason is feeling better and we're taking Shawn in to work late today, he and I are going to head off to the Sprawl of America. He's earned enough LEGO money (he's been getting vouchers when he puts himself to sleep, something we've been working on) so he can buy something he's be anxious to get (and is now on sale!): The Imperial AT-ST. We still only have three legs of the motorized AT-AT together, but when it's all done I hope to post another YouTube video of our family entertainment.

Since posting my bit about all our family illnesses and accidents I've heard from not only those who commented here, but a whole lot of other people who have had anything ranging from pnumonia to a daughter that had to be hospitalized. Is there something in the stars?
